We are seeking a Project Manager / Sr. Project Manager to join our growing team to work on-site at an exciting biotech in redwood City. The Project Manager / Sr. Project Manager will have solid understanding of drug development process, oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing drug development projects (IND-enabling, Phase 1 to 3 etc) and served as liaison between project teams and senior management team. He / She will be responsible for providing project management support, developing / maintaining project plans, timelines, status reports, strategic development plans in collaboration with cross functional teams. A successful Project Manager will apply PM tools and methodologies to facilitate alignment with key project stakeholders and ensure communication across project teams.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Responsible for planning and executing projects in accordance with clinical development strategy. Moves project from original concept through completion.
- Planning and tracking progress of timelines and defined milestones.
- Identify and manage risks across the project; escalate whenever appropriate.
- Manage regular team meetings schedules, draft and deliver meeting agendas, meeting minutes, action items and progress reports to key stakeholders.
- Develops and maintains project plans, timelines, status reports, strategic development plans in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Provide internal project management support to project team and management. Provide direction, management and assistance to the project leader and multiple sub-teams.
- Assist with developing and maintaining management dashboards and reports.
- Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path using appropriate tracking tools.
- Provides decision making methodologies, identifies bottleneck and inconsistencies within interdependencies and facilitate brainstorming with the teams to help identify project issues and resolutions
- Maintain MS Teams Database with project status, timelines and key project information.
- Apply expertise as a project manager within the biotech industry to successfully deliver project and program outcomes while managing stakeholder expectation.
- Executes project management processes, and follows best practices in project teams to foster continuous improvement by sharing of knowledge
Education and Experience Requirements:
- BS/BA degree required.
- 4 - 6 years’ experience in a biotech or pharmaceutical research organization; at least 5 years of relevant project management experience.
- Strong knowledge of project management tools including schedules, communication plans, risk plans, resource plans, scope & change management tools, action item trackers, and project plans.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) to express complex ideas
- Excellent facilitation, negotiation, conflict resolution skills, and cross functional collaboration skills with the ability to network with different functional areas.
- Project Management Certification is a plus.
- Experience working with cross functional teams (R&D, Regulatory, Preclinical, DMPK, ClinOps, Clinical Sciences, CMC etc.)
- Highly proficient using Microsoft Office Suites (MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of MS Teams / SharePoint is a plus.

- Self-motivated, detail-oriented leader with exceptional organizational, leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent understanding of MS Project, Smartsheet or equivalent Gantt software
